Father invests US$3 million and creates a global research network in search of a cure for the cancer that affects his son

“A father receives the news that his nine-year-old son has a brain tumor and, faced with a poor prognosis, creates an international network in search of funds to finance research to find a cure for the disease. He himself makes an initial donation of US$3 million (R$14.7 million).
The protagonist of this story is the Rio Grande do Sul businessman Fernando Goldsztein, 56, one of the partners in the construction company Cyrela. Eight years ago, his son Frederico, now 16, was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, the most common form of brain cancer affecting children and adolescents, present in about 20% of these cases. (…)”
