But the effect of the blow was exactly the opposite.<\/p><p>Upon receiving the diagnosis that his oldest son, Frederico, who was 9 years old at the time, had medulloblastoma, Fernando and his wife, Barbara, embraced a cause that is not just theirs, but that belongs to all parents of children with the same disease.
